Configurations

The HP Spectre x360 comes in several configurations and pricing points.

  • A model with an Intel Core i7 -1165G7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD are available.
  • A model with an Intel Core i5 -1135G7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD are available.

Other models are also available in the UK and Australia; nevertheless, consumers in the market for a new HP Spectre x360 have plenty of options.

Both Intel Tiger Lake and AMD Zen 3 mobile CPUs are available for the HP Envy x360. The basic model has a bigger 512GB PCIe SSD, but it gets equipped with a last-generation AMD Ryzen 5 4500U CPU and 16GB or 8GB of RAM.

Design Highlights

HP unveiled the HP Spectre x360 laptop, which has a premium feel and a lavish price tag. It’s made of machined aluminum, features a brushed-metal appearance with two USB-C ports, and is available in various colors. The keyboard is big and pleasurable with adequate travel and lighted keys. On the right, you’ll find an audio-in connection and a full-size USB port, while on the left, you’ll find a microSD connector and a physical camera shutdown switch. The touchpad is comfortable to use and responsive. It is a tiny and light laptop that feels big and large compared to tablets. Although using the laptop in this fashion is convenient, it isn’t a perfect substitute for a tablet.

The HP Envy x360 is a corporate laptop by HP aimed at businesspeople. The design is well-made, with an aluminum alloy chassis;  The Envy’s all-aluminum construction gives it a solid, robust feel you won’t find in other notebooks. Despite being a 2-in-1 laptop speaker system, the keyboard deck manages to include two extra top-firing speakers on either side. The trackpad is mediocre, but the keyboard is nice to type on. An SD card slot, two USB Type-C connectors, and an HDMI out port are several. But the laptop is thick enough for a 2-in-1.

The Envy x360 and Spectre x360 are both 2-in-1 laptops. The Envy’s slightly bigger bezel displays a minimalist design and a more conservative look compared to the Envy’s slightly bigger bezel. Overall, both computers are well-built and feature fantastic keyboards.

Display

The 3:2 display on HP’s new Spectre laptop is 13% taller than the 16:9 panel on last year’s model. The display may also get used with a stylus; the Spectre comes with HP’s MPP2.0 pen, magnetically attached to the chassis. Despite its aesthetic similarities, this Spectre stands apart from its predecessor because of the screen.

The HP ENVY x360 is a no-frills convertible that will get the job done. Although the 1080p display lacks the contrast of higher-end laptops like the Spectre, the FHD display and long battery life make it an excellent alternative. It looks fantastic both indoors and out, with up to 400 nits of brightness.

Performance Review

The HP Spectre x360 won’t let you down with its performance, thanks to an Intel Core i7-1165G7 CPU with a single-core score of 1,317 and boost rates up to 4.70GHz. This integrated GPU that claims to deliver significantly better performance than prior integrated graphics may even get confirmed by Intel’s Evo platform, which means it has various Intel-selected features, including rapid charging, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6, and consistent performance. The system can easily handle most of the onerous burden, allowing you to focus on your everyday duties.

AMD’s six-core CPUs got designed to compete with Intel’s Core i5 U-series processors, although its performance is similar to an i7. In the Envy x360 13, HP wisely chose Ryzen 4000 CPUs, which give an unmatched performance at this price and outperform Intel’s Core i7-1165G7. AMD graphics can handle benchmarks and real-world applications, making it a solid choice for creatives on a small budget.

Gaming

The HP Spectre x360 15 is excellent in terms of performance; since Intel’s Iris Xe integrated graphics are incorporated on the CPU, you wouldn’t want to use it for serious gaming. While it performs admirably in entry-level gaming, it is prone to overheating, turning on its fans, and reducing processing capacity for workhorse computing chores. If gaming is your primary purpose, I don’t believe this laptop is for you.

The HP ENVY x360 is even more stunning with AMD’s integrated Radeon graphics. The Ryzen 7 5700U CPU scored well in productivity benchmarks, and the integrated Radeon graphics can handle some light 3D gaming or cloud gaming services. The fans were hardly audible from a few feet away, and fan noise was in the 30 to 36 dB(A) range, compared to the upper 30 dB(A) level on most other convertibles.

Battery - Movability

In the PCMark 10 battery life test, the HP Spectre x360 came close to hitting the 13-hour threshold. As previously stated, the system is Evo labeled, which indicates it has gone thoroughly tested to fulfill particular performance standards such as a battery life of at least 9 hours and speedy recharging. Overall, the HP Spectre x360 battery is well-balanced and capable of withstanding mild to medium use.

The HP Envy x360 may last up to 13 hours on a single charge. With a battery capacity of 51 WHR, that’s much endurance for a desktop replacement. The PCMark 10 battery test may last a little over 13 hours. Even though its battery life isn’t the best on the market, it wins our comparison, at least on paper.

The battery life on both the Envy and Spectre laptops is adequate for their respective specs; nevertheless, using them appropriately will give you the most outstanding results. Due to the energy-sucking OLED display, the Spectre x360 didn’t excel the HP Envy x360 battery life despite its 6-cell, 72.9 Wh battery.

Note: If you choose the low-power display for the Spectre X360, you’ll receive much more battery life.

Factors That Will Help You Making a Decision between HP Spectre X360 Vs HP Envy X360

I understand that buying a new laptop is a complex decision and a significant expense, and as a result, you should squeeze out as much productivity as possible. Both of the HP Laptop machines mentioned above are worth your money. But, before you make your final selection, consider the following factors.

  • Budget: Both options are reasonably priced and may get configured further to fit a specific budget. Additional features, such as ports, more RAM, or other preinstalled software, will get reflected in your estimate. You may select one of them once you’ve determined which features are essential and how much you can spend.

Note: McAfee, ExpressVPN, and Candy Crush are among the preinstalled programs on the HP-Envy-x36, while the Spectre comes with Dropbox, ExpressVPN, McAfee, and Netflix pinned to the taskbar. If you don’t need it, you may wish to delete it to save up space.

Note: The HP ENVY line can be a little more affordable depending on whether you wish to customize your device

Bottom Line

The Spectre x360 series from HP are all powered by AMD’s 11th Generation “Tiger Lake” technology. The Spectre is a simple choice if you’re searching for a premium Windows convertible with a sophisticated style. You’ll choose an Envy if you’re a computer enthusiast or a creative worker looking for the quickest laptop. One thing is sure that whatever your requirement, you’ll find a computer for significant tasks among the HP laptops in their collection.

We hope that our guide to the HP Spectre and Envy laptop provides you with enough information to make an informed decision about your purchase.
