STEP 2: Download and Run RemoveNortonMacFiles as an Administrator (for Mac)

  1. Download the RemoveNortonMacFiles.zip file.
  2. Select the Finder application from the Dock’s shortcuts.
  3. In the left pane of the Finder window, select Downloads from the Favorites section of the menu.
  4. Do either of the following:
    • The RemoveNortonMacFiles folder should be open if you downloaded the file with Safari as your browser.
    • Double-click RemoveNortonMacFiles.zip if you downloaded it using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers to expand it, and then open the RemoveNortonMacFiles folder.
  1. Control-click the RemoveNortonMacFiles. Command file, and then select Open with > Terminal from the context menu (default).
    • Use an Administrator account and a non-blank password to execute this utility.
  1. Type your administrator password in the Terminal window and press return.
  2. When you enter your password, there are no characters to be seen on the screen
  3. Delete all Norton files and directories by typing “1” in the box provided.
  4. Type “2” to stop RemoveNortonMacFiles without deleting any files.
  5. Press the return key on your keyboard to complete the tenth step. Norton files can be deleted using the RemoveNortonMacFiles program.
  6. Restart your computer by typing “y” in the Terminal window and pressing return after the RemoveNortonMacFiles tool has finished removing the Norton files.

STEP 3: Download Norton 360 Again on Your Computer

Be sure to remove all previous versions of the installer setup from your Downloads folder before downloading the newest one.

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Enter your Norton email address and password.
  3. On the My Norton gateway, select Download.
  4. Click Agree & Download on the Get Started page.
  5. Double-click the downloaded file to start the Norton installation after it has finished downloading.
  6. Click Norton License Agreement to review the product license agreement before installing Norton.

1st Alternative to Getting Norton 360 to Run

  1. For the Product key, log into your Norton Account,
  2. Click onto the Devices tab,
  3. Find the device you need a product key for and copy it by writing it down, or by doing highlight/copy/paste action. Your product key can also be accessed from the Services tab.

2nd Alternative: Reinstalling Norton 360

It is better to reinstall the Norton antivirus for better functioning. All you need to do is to uninstall the current software and reinstall that again. Follow the steps:

  1. Sign In to Norton.
  2. If you don’t have a Norton account then you need to sign in to the Norton account. Type in your email address and password for Norton, and snap Sign In.
  3. If you don’t have a Norton account, click Create account and complete the sign-up process.
  4. In the Norton Setup window, click Download Norton.
  5. Snap Agree and Download.
  6. Click OK to spare and open the Setup.zip document.
  7. When the download completes, double-tap the Norton item Installer.
  8. Press Agree and Install to begin the procedure.
  9. Follow the on-screen guidelines to finish the establishment.
  10. Click Continue when Live Updates were done.
  11. In the Installation Successful window, click Restart.
